Animal Rehab and Rescue is designed for students to give back to the community by helping animals. A large number of our activities revolve around volunteering. Some examples would include visiting an animal shelter or organizing adoption events.

We are a student-run health club that focuses on empowering students to become contributors to the health community through education, collaboration, and experience. Activities include guest speakers, case studies, discussions about higher education and career paths, and hands-on experiences.

Best Buddies is an organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Students with disabilities (Buddies) are paired based on compatibility with a general education peer (Peer Buddies) to form a friendship for the current school year. Each month there will be: a Best Buddies meeting after school, a group activity schedule (i.e. bowling, movie, dance, attend a school sporting event, etc.), and an activity with their peers (outside of the group activity). Boys Bowling is an opportunity for Metea Valley boys to socialize and have fun doing something they enjoy. We meet 2-3 times a month between September and November and then restart the end of February through May.  We bowl at Fox Bowl in Wheaton and transportation is provided (when possible). There is a $5.00 per week fee for bowling payable to the bowling alley each week.

Diva's Chat is a mentoring club for female freshman - senior students.  Our vision statement is "

To empower young woman to come together and form a sisterhood, so they can achieve emotional and economic self-sufficiency by ensuring they graduate from high school and brighten their college or career journey.

We have speakers come in and share their stories. We work on vision boards, self-worth, conflict resolution and many other challenges young ladies face today. 

Elevate is a women’s empowerment club for the young women at Metea Valley that will meet bi-weekly discussing things such as health, exercise, hygiene, as well as having monthly speakers for the young women. We promote and educate by establishing an equal field of access for all young women at Metea Valley to gain strategies, bonds, friendships, and purpose.

Filling Hearts with Hope is an organization which strives to bring joy to children who are patients in local hospitals. The organization runs a variety of charitable drives in order to collect toys and gift items geared towards all children. Filling Hearts with Hope is open to all students who wish to help with these efforts.

Mental Health Matters

Mental Health Matters' mission is to foster dialogue, promote awareness, reduce stigma, and empower all of the Metea Community regarding mental health. We plan many fun activities throughout the year, like Mental Health Awareness week, and Finals Week Stress busters. Have some ideas?  (Naperville Chapter) aka “Snowball” is a fun, captivating, and popular youth leadership development program. 360 Youth Services partners with Districts 203 & 204 to coordinate this teen-led and adult supported program for area high school students. Each two-day retreat (fall and spring) engages teens in relevant and interactive activities in a safe and respectful environment that helps support growth of our social emotional skills and well-being.

Orchesis is a performing arts troupe that performs in a variety of events throughout the year with one main stage show in late winter.  Many forms of dance are utilized - modern, ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, and hip-hop.  Membership is by audition only.

Psychology Club is a club for students interested in human thought and behavior.  Join us for meetings twice a month where we’ll investigate a variety of subjects related to psychology.  Activities include, but are not limited to: mini-experiments, demonstrations and presentations on a variety of psychological concepts; guest speakers with various psychological backgrounds; movie afternoons; and more much!  All students are welcome, regardless of whether they are enrolled in Psychology or AP Psychology.  Hope to see you there!

Real Men Real Talk is a club to support the male students with encouragement, leadership, career awareness, relationships, and real- life conversations. We discuss situations regarding what if and how would you handle different situations. We invite guest speakers in to share their life stories. The purpose is to mentor young men and come together with their challenges and to learn how to better navigate their own future life skills and deal with whatever comes into their life. We will discuss how to overcome their obstacles. They will have someone to listen to them, offer advice, and stay positive as they grow to be real men while attending high. We especially focus on students who are participating in sports and meet after school before practices while encouraging students to do their best and be a positive role model to others. They might even enjoy some food during the meetings.

Special Olympics is an athletic organization created to help people with intellectual disabilities develop self-confidence, social skills and a sense of personal accomplishment. It is also for those students who have an interest in working with special need students. Athletes (students with disabilities) can compete in lots of different sports alongside partners (students without disabilities). Unified sports are sports where athletes and partners compete together. Traditional sports are just for athletes but partners are able to support the athletes at practice and events. SO is a great organization to be part of to get involved, active and make lifelong friends! Follow at @someteavalley

The UNICEF High School Club program is a youth-led initiative that partners with the U.S. Fund for UNICEF to educate, advocate and fundraise to support UNICEF’s lifesaving work. It is a growing movement rooted in a belief that students have a vital role to play in helping the world’s children survive. The initiative supports UNICEF’s work in more than 190 countries and territories, because students have a unique opportunity to involve members of their community in global humanitarian issues. UNICEF High School Clubs engage in a variety of activities. They set up booths at their schools and at festivals to promote children’s issues and fundraise, write letters to elected officials and participate in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF and the UNICEF Tap Project campaigns. They also produce benefit concerts, host speakers, and write school newspaper articles about UNICEF’s work.
