The American Sign Language Club's mission is to create a place for all students who wish to learn more about American Sign Language (ASL), the Deaf community and Deaf culture. In addition to the activities on campus, the ASL Club gets together with the ASL Clubs from the other District 204 high schools for Silent Meals. Silent Meals are events at local restaurants where students have the opportunity to use their signs in the community. The ASL Club is open to all students. Follow on Twitter @MVASLClub

Art Club is a workshop-based club that meets monthly in F101 or F111. Each workshop features a studio area of study such as Ceramics, Painting, Glass mosaics, Fiber, Pastels, Printmaking, etc. with an in-depth "make and take" approach. Member participants will finish up each workshop with a completed work of art. Some workshops have two sessions in a month, depending on the project. Each participant member will pay a small fee for materials for each chosen workshop. There is a $20 fee to join Art Club.

The Metea Valley Book Club meets weekly with students who share an interest in books. Sometimes we discuss a shared book we are all reading, sometimes we discuss the different books we are reading, sometimes we discuss what we wish we were reading during those busy times of the year! We promote our love of reading to others through community outreach projects and have a fun time with it. Join us! All are welcome. We meet on Thursdays in the LMC at 7:00am.

This club provides students with a variety of broadcast and media-related experiences and behind-the-scenes work .  The Broadcast Club is only for those enrolled in Broadcast Journalism class.

The Chess Team is open to all students interested in the game of chess. Recreational chess and interscholastic competitions are available. Meetings and competitions are held from October through February and meetings are every Thursday.

The National Chinese Honor Society is a scholastic organization that promotes and recognizes students who demonstrate citizenship, leadership, and community service. The National Chinese Honor society recognizes students who study Chinese and wish to gain a better understanding of the Chinese language and culture.

Metea Dhamaka was established as a Bollywood Dance club at Metea Valley High School. We ensure diversity and build a stronger community by choreographing and performing at different events all year long. We encourage inclusivity and want to bring in people who enjoy dancing and having fun! You don't need to know dance to join, we learn and choreograph them together! We meet Thursdays, after school, from 2:30 to 3:30.

Drama Club is a group for all Metea Valley students who have an interest in the theatrical arts.  We hold monthly meetings for the purpose of organizing our annual trip to Theatre Fest, coordinating International Thespian Society membership, and facilitating workshops to help students polish their craft (auditions workshops, improvisation workshops, etc)

Get together with like-minded tabletop RPG gamers, roll some dice, and be a hero! Dungeons & Dragons is a role-playing game limited only by the strength of your imagination. As a player, create a character, pick up some gear, learn some spells, and partake in a thrilling adventure campaign. As the Dungeon Master, you are in charge of telling the story, setting perilous traps in your players' path, and leading them straight into dangerous encounters. Join us once a week (date to be determined by members) throughout the school year, September through May. 

The French Club exists for the purpose of celebrating and promoting the French language and culture. It is open to any student who has an interest in French (language or culture). You do not have to be in a French class to be in the club. We meet once a month after school and we enjoy making and eating French food, listening to French music, playing French games and taking field trips. C'est magnifique! This club may collect a fee.

Korean Percussion Ensemble - The Korean Percussion Ensemble is open to all MVHS students with and without musical experience. The purpose of this ensemble is to bring students together to share in a unique and powerful music making experience through traditional Korean drumming. We are very fortunate to be one of only a few schools across the country to have this ensemble! The group meets once a week for 1 ½ hours beginning in October and ending in May. Performances range from formal concerts at MVHS to the Thanksgiving Day Parade in Chicago, partnered with the Korean Performing Arts Institute of Chicago.

Literary Magazine is a club that celebrates all forms of writing and art that express the student experience in both school and life.  Our goal is to offer young artists a space to form a literary community that inspires them and others to find joy in the sharing of art and literature. Students produce a literary magazine that is a reflective and artistic representation of the school year and their identities.

The Metea Madrigal Singers is an auditioned extra-curricular vocal ensemble that prepares and performs a cappella choral music, focusing on the genres of the madrigal, motet, and traditional Christmas carol. They also enjoy performing for school and community at local holiday functions and corporate gatherings. The Madrigal Singers will merrily present the festive spirits and sounds of the holiday season at their annual Ye Olde Madrigal Feaste on December 11 & 12, held on campus at Metea Valley High School in Aurora- come join us!

The Marching Mustangs is an extracurricular band that consists of freshman through senior music students. The marching band rehearses four days a week after school and performs at all home football games. Other events include the Memorial Day Parade, Labor Day Parade, College Band Days, local marching band festivals, and trips to such as Disney.

Our mission is to work collaboratively to promote global citizenship through a variety of experiences best suited for our students and their interests. Students will have the opportunity to seek the best path for their personalized learning experience abroad that embodies Metea’s L.I.F.E. Looking for a way to make Metea Valley a welcoming place? Fresh Connect is where you want to be! The Metea LIFE Leaders work with the freshman class and also help incoming transfer students. Freshman Orientation, Fresh Connect lessons, transfer student tours, and special freshmen events are just some of the things this organization is responsible for throughout the year. Leaders are selected through an application process each spring. Mustang Comedy provides weekly workshops and quarterly performances to keep our Mustang community laughing. We perform three full length comedy shows every year and also participate in a variety of other workshop and performance activities including Fine Arts Fests, Talent Shows, Improv Battles, and our yearly Stand Up Showcase! Mustang Strings is an extracurricular string ensemble that functions as the ambassador of the MVHS Strings Department. The ensemble performs for a variety of concerts as well as the December Collage concert. Students perform music of various styles such as: Classical, Pop, Rock, Folk, and International Styles in an expressive manner.

Mustang Strings Varsity rehearses every Tuesday from 2:30-3:30pm.

MVHS Mariachi - MVHS Mariachi is available to current students enrolled in band, choir, and orchestra with the exception is acoustic guitar where any MVHS student may join us regardless of your experience level. The purpose of this ensemble is to bring students together to discover more about Mariachi and traditional Mexican music. Mariachi is gaining popularity in schools across the country, and we are excited to offer this opportunity to our students as well. Sophomore, Junior and Senior Art Students are invited to apply for membership to the National Art Honor Society.

Requirements for membership:

•Enrollment in art course during the school year

•A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

•A minimum grade of B in all art courses

•Student application and information sheet via google doc link

•Payment of dues $30 (payable to MVHS)- Due via push coin by October 1st

•Consistent attendance at meetings and participation in at least 2 of our club activities/ service projects

Membership in this chapter is based on scholarship, service, and character.  The National Art Education Association (NAEA) is committed to recognizing high school students who demonstrate outstanding abilities in the visual arts.  As a member of Metea Valley’s NAHS, you will have many opportunities which will include having your artwork on exhibit, participation in community and service oriented projects, and opportunities to participate in hands-on workshops.

We are the voice of Metea Valley High School. Our student journalists publish fresh stories, photos, and videos on the award-winning MeteaMedia.org daily, in addition to publishing six issues each year of The Stampede, our in-depth, award-winning news magazine. Students with talent in writing, photography, graphics, design, social media, marketing, and business are needed. We want you to join our team! Orchesis is a performing arts troupe that performs in a variety of events throughout the year with one main stage show in late winter.  Many forms of dance are utilized - modern, ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, and hip hop.  Membership is by audition only.

The MVHS Pep Band is an extracurricular ensemble that performs for home Boys and Girls Basketball games. The ensemble consists of freshman through senior band students. Our goal is to engage our community and support our fellow Mustangs!

The Spanish Club is for students interested in the Hispanic culture.  Meetings are spent doing cultural crafts, cooking authentic Hispanic dishes and discussing the different festivals of various countries.  Students that have been in Spanish Club for a year and also level 3 may be inducted into the Spanish Honor Society.  This is an academic community for students interested in the Hispanic Culture. This club may collect a fee.

Participants in this team have the opportunity to compete in any of 14 categories, ranging from an interpretation and performance of a prepared scene to an original composition or improvised speech.  This is a great activity for Mustangs interested in competition and in refining their ability to perform publically.  The Speech-IE season runs from late October to February.

Splash of Color is a co-curricular multi-ethnic string ensemble that performs music from varied cultures. The ensemble is committed to inclusion and reaching out to a multi-ethnic population. This ensemble truly exemplifies that music is the universal language. This ensemble rehearses once a week and has performances throughout the year.

The Metea Valley Symphony Orchestra (MVSO) is a co-curricular symphony orchestra for advanced music students from both band and orchestra who wish to receive training and gain experience in playing standard symphonic repertoire. This elite ensemble will combine strings, wind, and percussion players to perform a variety of standard symphonic literature.

The Tri-M Music Honor Society is the international music honor society for high school students. It is designed to recognize students for their academic and musical achievements, reward them for their accomplishments and service activities, and to inspire other students to excel at music and leadership.  This club may collect a fee.

United Voices celebrates Gospel music, as well as R&B, Blues, spirituals, and world music.  United Voices will meet in the 2nd Semester on WEDNESDAYS from 3-4pm and is open to ALL Metea students. No experience is required and new members are always welcome!

We are the history book of the school year. Our student journalists publish stories that capture the year through photos, writing and graphic design. Our award winning yearbook is a yearly print publication that is a huge team effort to make the book look like one person created it cohesively. Our goal is to feature every student in the school three times, and provide voices to students involved in Mustang sports and activities as well as out in the community, in their academics, and individually. We want you to join our team! To be on staff, students must talk to their guidance counselor about taking yearbook journalism as an elective. Join us for multiple years and become part of the leadership team. We also ensure our students gain experience by attending local and national conferences, exposing them to professional journalists and other student journalists.
