YOU. You are the Metea Valley High School Parent Teacher Student Association (Metea PTSA). You, your student and your student’s educator are the Metea PTSA -- our MVHS Family. As an organization, Metea PTSA is a member of the Illinois Congress of Parents and Teachers Organization of Springfield, ILwhere every child / one voice. Metea PTSA links the larger Illinois PTA Organization and their many Leadership Resources, Programs and Advocacy Events designed specifically for the Illinois student and teacher to YOU - the local membership.

It’s fast and easy to start supporting your student and the MVHS community. Parents and guardians download your Membership Application HERE. Students, Teachers and staff download your Membership Form HERE. Please take care to fill out the form completely and legibly. Attach your check payable to Metea PTSA and drop at the MVHS Main Office located just inside Door 1 of school. Then JUMP right in. Still need help? Contact us. . Then JUMP right in.

What We Do

The Metea PTSA supports the staff, students and families of MVHS in ways that help students achieve academic, social and personal success. The Metea PTSA works closely with administration and many community outreach organizations to provide meaningful programs, educational materials, effective advocacy and scholarships for our school.

Meetings - All are welcome

Informative guest speakers are often a major part of these one hour gatherings. From hearing first hand from the Principal what’s happening inside the halls and walls of school, to being introduced to academic resources both in and out of school that help your student succeed. Meetings are held  in the LMC Main Room MV-113 (enter door 1).

Executive Board and Committee Chairs

Every spring, Executive Board Members are nominated and voted into office for the following year. Executive Board Members are adults (19+ years of age) at the time of the nominations and are required to complete training provided free of charge by the Illinois Congress of Parents and Teachers Organization of Springfield, IL. Courses like “PTA Road to Success”, “Money Matters (101) and (201)”, and “Membership Workshop” are offered at various locations throughout the state. Committee Chairs lead members in the execution of Metea PTSA sponsored events and Metea PTSA support resources. Chairs are nominated and appointed by the current Executive Board. Chairs can be self-nominated and are typically highly motivated self-starters.

Your Metea PTSA operates under the IL Congress of Parent & Teachers Organization of Springfield, IL which has been recognized as a charitable organization by the IRS. Please check with your individual tax advisor on deductibility of any donations you make to Metea PTSA. Non-cash donations are accepted as requested by various committees and activity chairs of Metea PTSA. Checks payable to “Metea PTSA” are always appreciated and can be dropped off at the Main Office located just inside Door 1 of school. Don’t forget to double your donation by using your company’s corporate match benefit!
