MVHS Theatre presents Our Town
Welcome to OUR TOWN! On behalf of the students and staff of our MVHS Theater Program, we proudly present our spring play, “Our Town,” the dramatic Pulitzer winning classic by Thornton Wilder that takes us on a journey through life and all that it has to offer. Our Town is offering a new perspective here at MVHS, LITERALLY since all of the audience will be seated ON THE STAGE. Our highly skilled high school talent has worked endlessly with a minimal set, focusing on their acting and storytelling skills. Our tech crew has had work to do, with some creative styling and AMAZING lights to mimic starlight throughout the entire auditorium! It's a timeless classic that is a must-see for any theater goer!
Our Town explores the relationship between two young Grover’s Corners neighbors, George Gibbs and Emily Webb, whose childhood friendship blossoms into romance, and then culminates in marriage. Throughout the show, the simple story of a love affair is constantly rediscovered because it asks timeless questions about the meaning of love, life, and death through the performance of every character. It is a timeless reminder to the audience to ask ourselves what, who truly matters in our lives? Wilder asks that we slow down, and appreciate life— be it day-to-day, hour-to-hour, or every minute with those we value most.
