Seal Of Biliteracy Informational Meeting

Reported by on 11/29/17

On Thursday, December 7th the World Languages Department will hold two informational meetings for students interested in finding out more about the Seal of Biliteracy and the proficiency testing that will take place this January. The Seal of Biliteracy is an award granted by the Illinois State Board of Education and given by District 204 High Schools in recognition and celebration of students who demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the four domains of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English and one or more other languages by the end of their senior year. Students who earn the Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy or the Illinois State Commendation toward Biliteracy will have their achievement acknowledged on both their diploma and transcripts. Additionally, many universities across the country are granting college credit towards students who have received either the Seal of Biliteracy or the Illinois State Commendation.
