PSAT Registration & Testing Information for Juniors

The PSAT will be administered on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, beginning at 7:25 AM, to juniors who register in advance for the test. Wednesday, October 16th is a regular school day.

What is the PSAT/NMSQT?
The PSAT/NMSQT is a qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program. The PSAT/NMSQT measures your skills and knowledge in the areas of reading, writing & language, and math.

Who should take the PSAT?
The PSAT/NMSQT is highly recommended for college-bound juniors with a strong standardized testing history as this program awards several prestigious honors for students who score in the 98th or higher percentile of this exam.

How do I register?
• PSAT registration fee is $23.00.
• Registration & Payment: Students must register and pay online through Total Registration.
• Deadlines: Registration opens on Monday, September 2nd and the deadline to register is 11:59 PM on Monday, September 16th. Registrations cannot be accepted after September 16th.
• A confirmation page indicates that the exam registration has been successfully completed through Total Registration. Please print a copy of your confirmation page for your records. If you do not receive a confirmation page, you ARE NOT REGISTERED and will not be able to test!
• Cancellation Policy: Students who cancel an exam by September 16th will receive a refund of $18.00. No refunds will be issued for tests cancelled after 9/16.

What do I do on test day?
Juniors who have registered in advance should report directly to their assigned testing rooms on October 16th. Room assignments will be posted online and in locker banks on October 11th. Testing will begin promptly at 7:25 AM. The test administration takes approximately 4 hours and then students will finish the day in their regularly scheduled classes. If their lunch hour was during the testing time, students will eat lunch and then report to their next scheduled class. This is not an early dismissal day for any student, including the students testing. October 16th is a regular school day for all 9th, 10th, and 12th graders as well as 11th graders who are not testing.
